There are all kinds of spiritual groups out there. Most of them claim that they are only about Torah. Some claim to be Israelite. You can trace their influences back to Islam, Christianity, Seventh day Adventist and Judaism.
We will discuss here some of the practices and customs of Israelite groups and examine its origin. Some of their practices have no relationship with anything that is written in the Torah. You can't find anything written in the Torah to support some of their customs. I kings 12:31 Jeroboam also built places of worship on hilltops and he chose priests from families who were not of the tribe of Levi.
1 Kings 13:33 After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil halacha but made again from the am-ha-eretz, Kohanim for the high places, anyone who wished to be Cohane, he ordained them.
This practice still exists today. A man would just read a little about the Torah here and there. Then he sets himself up as a priest. Taking tithes and offering for his interests.
